Prior to joining JB Were this September, Sally spent 12 years at J.P. Morgan, where she was Chief Economist and Head of Fixed Income and Foreign Exchange Strategy for Australia and New Zealand. Sally is a highly regarded financial markets professional, recognised for her thought leadership on the Antipodean economies and financial markets. She started her career at Credit Suisse First Boston and has also worked at ANZ. She holds a Bachelor of Economics with First Class Honours and the University Medal from The University of Sydney and a D.Phil in Economics from Oxford University. She is Deputy Chair of the Council of The Women's College, within the University of Sydney and she also sits on the boards of Equality Australia and SCEGGS Darlinghurst.
Doug Ferguson, NSW Chair and Head of Asia & International Markets, KPMG and Chair of the Asia Society.
Having initially joined KPMG in 1997 Doug has worked in Australia, Hong Kong and Beijing and has led KPMG's acquisition due diligence engagements across China. After spending 2 years as CFO and Chief Investment Officer for an Australian Chinese joint venture, Doug returned to KPMG in 2008 as a Partner specialisng in private equity and jointly leading the liquidation of Lehman Brothers' principal real estate investment assets throughout Asia. Returning to Australia in early 2012, Doug led KPMG's China and then Asian Client Business advising Australian companies on their Asian export growth strategies. In 2019 he was appointed to the role of KPMG's NSW Chair. He also continues to lead KPMG's Asia & International Markets.
In addition, Doug has co-authored 18 research reports on Chinese – Australian investment and two survey-based trade reports on "Doing Business in China". He regularly hosts visiting Chinese delegations and regularly speaks about China-Australia business at major industry conference events in Australia and in the mainstream media. He is Chair of the Asia Society in Australia, Board Member of Advance, a Reference Group Member of The New Colombo Plan and a member of the BCA China Leadership Group as well as being an Adjunct Professor at the Business School in the discipline of International Business.
