Supporting Climate Action through Just Transition and the SDG's

You are invited to join us for the Business Not as Usual 2022 webinar series. Following on from COP26 last year we will explore efforts in Supporting Climate Action through Just Transition and the SDG's. Join us as Erwin Jackson, Policy Director at Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC), Liza McDonald, Head of Responsible Investments, Aware Super and Dr Anna Young-Ferris from the University of Sydney Business School explore the advances we're making and the challenges still ahead for businesses, society and government.

As part of this event, we are also thrilled to launch the Business School's third UN Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) Report 'From Narrative to Action' that showcases some of the inspiring ways we have integrated the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across the School.

Moderator

Dr Tanya Fiedler is an interdisciplinary accountant interested in measuring and delivering sustainable outcomes with a particular focus on climate change. Tanya is a member of the University of Sydney Business School's UN Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) Steering Group. She regularly engages with and advises government, regulators and industry on topics relating to climate risk assessment, management and disclosure, and participates regularly on panels and roundtables both in Australia and internationally.

Erwin Jackson, Policy Director, Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC)
Erwin is one of Australia's leading climate policy analysts and advocates with over 30 years' experience. He oversees the policy and advocacy priorities for IGCC and is a regular commentor in the national media on climate policy and risk. He works with governments and stakeholders to build investable national climate, physical risk and climate-related risk policies. Throughout his career Erwin has advised government and business on effective climate policy nationally and internationally. He sat on research advisory committees for the University of Melbourne, ANU, CSIRO and the University of Queensland. Erwin was also Deputy CEO of The Climate Institute for 10 years.

Liza McDonald, Head of Responsible Investments, Aware Super
Liza has over 20 years' experience in the superannuation sector and is a specialist and passionate advocate for Responsible Investments and Sustainable Finance. In her role she has led the development and implementation of the Fund's Responsible Investment policies, the execution of the Climate Change Strategy and also manages the ESG policy implementation including manager and asset class ESG reviews. Liza represents Aware Super on Investors Against Slavery & Trafficking APAC (IAST-APAC); ESG Research Australia; the Australian Sustainable Finance Initiative (ASFI); the Responsible Investment Association Australasia (RIAA); 40:40 Vision; the Australian Council of Superannuation Investors (ACSI) and the UN convened Global Investors for Sustainable Development Alliance (GISD).

Dr. Anna Young-Ferris, The Univeristy of Sydney Business School.
Anna specialises in sustainability and climate change strategy, reporting and impact combining 20 years of academic and corporate experience. Her award-winning PhD examined the integration of environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) accounting information in mainstream investment decisions, and she continues to focus and publish her research in the fields of responsible investment, corporate sustainability, and responsible management education. She is the Academic Co-Lead for the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) and leads the strategic integration of the SDGs into teaching, research, and organisational practices across the Business School.
