Join us for a thought-provoking evening as the Discipline of Accounting, Governance, and Regulation at The University of Sydney Business School hosts the 2025 RJ Chambers Lecture. This year’s event will feature a panel discussion with three of Australia’s most distinguished investigative journalists.

The panel will be hosted by Professor Clinton Free who is leading a major research project examining public interest journalism in Australia.

Panellists

Angus Grigg – A respected investigative journalist, Angus has uncovered financial crime, corporate fraud, and political corruption for The Australian Financial Review and Four Corners. With deep experience as a foreign correspondent, his investigations have driven policy reforms and criminal convictions.

Kate McClymont AM – One of Australia’s most fearless investigative journalists, Kate is renowned for exposing corruption, political scandals, and organized crime. A veteran of The Sydney Morning Herald, she has won multiple Walkley Awards, including the Gold Walkley, for her relentless pursuit of accountability.

Linton Besser– A Walkley Award-winning journalist and current host of Media Watch, Linton is known for his fearless reporting with Four Corners and The Sydney Morning Herald. His investigations into corruption, human rights abuses, and corporate wrongdoing have shaped public discourse and accountability.

In an age where misinformation spreads rapidly and truth is contested, investigative journalism remains a pillar of public accountability. This event will explore the challenges of uncovering the truth in an increasingly polarized and digital media landscape.
