ACC Scholars Event: Dr James Kirby in Conversation on Creating More Compassionate Lives and Societies

This conversation will discuss the key points in James’ latest book entitled Choose Compassion: Why it matters and how it works which was released on 1 November 2022.

This Zoom meeting will involve a 20min presentation by James on the background to, and key aspects of his book; a one-on-one interview with James to go deeper into those themes; and will finish with 20mins of open Q&A with the audience.

About Dr James Kirby

James is a Senior Lecturer and Clinical Psychologist. James has broad research interests in compassion science. James also holds a Visiting Fellowship at the Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education at Stanford University and is an Honorary Member of the Compassionate Mind Foundation UK James is also a member of the ACC Scholars group.

About the ACC Scholars Network

The ACC Scholars Network is a Community of Compassion Science Scholars from across Australia. This Network supports compassion research in Australia by mapping and distributing information on the compassion research being developed by its Scholars. The ACC Scholars Network is a joint project of the Australian Compassion Council and the University of Sydney’s Body, Heart and Mind in Business Research centre. Its main activity in 2022 has been to work with the Australian Journal of Management on a Special issue of Compassion in Organisations which is due for release in 2023.
