Research Integrity Panel

May 6, 2022 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm AEST

Abstract
A significant challenge for academics and research students is the production of reliable and robust research. To foster Business School-wide dialogue around open, reproducible, and transparent scholarship, the Disciplines of Marketing, SIE, and WOS have joined forces to hold a cross-faculty seminar. The seminar will be broadly relevant to research reproducibility and transparency. I will host a perse range of speakers who have chosen their own topics. Panel and audience discussion follow each presentation.

Speakers and topics
The speakers include Teresa Davis, Eliza Byington, and Dan Lovallo. Associate Prof. Teresa Davis will be the panellist for the Discipline of Marketing. She will speak about integrity around research with vulnerable participants (e.g., culturally and linguistically perse consumers or children). Dr Eliza Byington will take part on behalf of the Discipline of Work and Organisational Studies. She has elected to speak about publication ethics at the journal level and how there are some perverse incentives for editors, publishers, and reviewers that ultimately lead to perverse incentives for authors. Prof. Dan Lovallo will be the panellist for the Discipline of Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He will talk about integrity in authorship.
