Professor Kohn is among the world's best researchers in the development of statistical models and methods and in the scalable algorithms needed to estimate these models and methods for increasingly large datasets. He is a recipient of an ARC Distinguished Researcher Award (DORA), a Scientia Professor at the UNSW, Chief Investigator on the ARC Centre of Excellence, Frontiers in Mathematics and Statistics, a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Social Sciences. Robert's research and teaching interests include Bayesian methodology, Variable selection and model averaging, Nonparametric regression models, Time series modelling, Multivariate Gaussian and non-Gaussian regression; and Markov chain Monte Carlo simulation algorithms.
