The Business Ethics Collaborative supported by the University of Sydney Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma is a group deliberately set up to engage the existing ethics knowledge and expertise across the University of Sydney Business School.
It aims to promote and develop high quality ethics focused research and teaching.
Business Ethics Collaborative is involved in outreach activities within the University and the wider community and business settings.
The Business Ethics Collaborative in the University of Sydney Business School, was funded by a seed donation from Irene Moss in 2006.
The research undertaken by members have appeared in many commercial books and internationally recognised journals. Members also teach a number of ethics-related subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels within the Business School.
Members of the Business Ethics Collaborative are available for a broad range of activities including, but not limited to: media comment, school visits, and collaborating with a number of private, public and volunteer organisations in terms of projects, leading briefings, and developing more ethically sound decision making. The Business Ethics Collabartive, in conjuction with the Business School's Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter, holds an annual student case competition. The case competition allows students to showscase the knowledge they have gain to find solutions to real-world problems.
The Business Ethics Collaborative has been fortunate to secure funding from an alumnus, John Natoli, who wishes to support the important work of providing ethics education to undergraduate and postgraduate students via the Natoli Ethics Fund.
The Natoli Ethics Fund hold a yearly ethics essay competition for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Student submission can be found on our Ethics blog.
