The University of Sydney Business School Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma makes the "Honour Roll"

The University of Sydney Business School is proud to announce its Highest Honours designation with Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS), the international business honour society. This is the highest level of recognition a chapter can earn in BGS’ Chapter Honour Roll program, and it commends the University of Sydney Business School’s commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and student success.

Over the past twelve months the BGS Chapter at the Business School have recognised an outstanding community leader as the Chapter Honouree award and recognised the support and guidance offered by an academic staff member through the Professor of the Year award.

At the BGS Recognition Ceremony in May 2023, the academic achievements of 436 of the Business School's students were recognised and celebrated through membership to BGS. The BGS medal for exceptional academic achievements was presented to Jingyao (Eloise) Bai (Bachelor of Commerce) and Chenhua (Catherine) Chen (Master of Commerce) at the Recognition Ceremony.

The Business School's Chapter Advisor, Wes Hamilton-Jessop said "this would not be possible without our Student President, Alvina Lock, our student officers Christopher Laksana and Evangelina Cheung, and our committee members. Significantly, it is the BGS alumni members who attend our events and give back to the Business School and the BGS Chapter that allows us to achieve this recognition".

As a designated BGS Highest Honours chapter, the University of Sydney Business School also receives a scholarship for one BGS student to attend the next Global Leadership Summit or equivalent event—an annual event that gathers some of the top business students from around the world for a four-day learning and networking experience.

Founded in 1913, Beta Gamma Sigma is the international business honour society for AACSB-accredited schools, which are the top 5% of business school programs around the world. Inducted as students, BGS members go on to serve in critical leadership roles in corporate, entrepreneurial, government, non-profit, and academic sectors.
